Pre-Roustabout

In case anyone was wondering a) what the heck is a "roustabout"? b) what does that have to do with Lisa?? or c) whats up with the blog??? Welllll....

a) roustabout (from Websters): a person with no permanent home or regular occupation; also : one who stirs up trouble. Personally, I interpret the definition as someone who enjoys the undefined and unplanned apsects of life, and allows these experiences to shape his or her worldview in a meaningful way.

b)OK - so i DO have a permanent home (thank you Zack, I love you!), regular occupation, and occasionally like to stir up trouble....but to the degree that I can incorporate the true "roustabout" spirit into my life, I will do so - be it camping, caving, travelling, eating, writing, and just generally living life to its fullest and most unpredictable - I know that the spirit of the definition of the word makes my life and its pursuits full of more passion, understanding, and appreciation. It's knowing that more people, places and things exist in our world than what we allow ourselves to be exposed to; the cultivation of that understanding has been the most beautiful trip thus far.

c) the deal with the blog: i love to write. i love to travel. documenting both of these passions is both cathartic for myself, and also lets my family and friends experience the things and places that help me to continually evolve into the daughter, girlfriend, niece, sister, friend, grand-daughter, and co-worker that they have encouraged me to be, and I am proud to be.

  2. Well, I am about to go to bed alone for the first day of 30. I am not happy about it although I admire Lisa for having the guts to go away from everything that is "her comfort circle" so I guess it is a good thing. I lover her so much. I think I will be posting as much as she does. I will use this blog as a form of therapy.
    Good night all

    PS
Lisa, if you read this your catt just went upstairs with her "hunger limp" after eating a half a can. What a bullshitter.
